Germany warns Indian students: Stay away from “Complete Package” agents

Important warning for students who want to study in Germany!

Indian Ambassador to Germany Philipp Ackermann has issued an important advisory for Indian students. He said:

“Complete package services do not benefit students. Everyone should choose their own universities and apply directly.”

What is the background to the warning?

Some fraudulent agents are deceiving students by offering them education, visa, accommodation, and employment in a single “package.” This leads to problems such as fake documents, false information, and illegal payments.
Advocate Divya Singh says:

“These types of services are unreliable. They provide false information about laws and university accreditations.”

In 2023, some students from Punjab were detained at Frankfurt Airport while traveling to Germany with fake documents, and some were deported. They were later listed as unable to enter the Schengen area.

What to avoid?

  • “Employment guarantee” documents provided by agents
  • Complete “package” programs
  • Documents from unaccredited educational institutions
  • Fake visa documents
  • Payments without a legal contract

Students need to:

  1. Apply directly through DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) or official university websites.
  2. Check whether the university of choice is accredited.
  3. Seek guidance from the German embassy or accredited educational consultants.

Lawyer Ajay Kathalawala (Little & Co) says: “Even if students are honest, a false document can lead to a visa refusal. For some, it can lead to immigration restrictions.” In conclusion…

It is important for Indian students who want to study in Germany to follow the proper procedures and not get involved in short-cut schemes offered by agents, but to gather information on their own and act safely.

Honesty and trustworthiness will protect your future!
