Canada Immigration Fraud Warning: 5-Year Entry Ban for Violations

The Government of Canada has issued a stern warning against immigration fraud, stating that individuals caught submitting false documents or misleading information may face a five-year ban from entering the country.

According to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the number of immigration-related fraud cases has been increasing steadily. In an official alert released last week, IRCC revealed that an average of 9,000 fraud investigations are initiated every month in 2024.

The warning emphasized that applications containing fake passports, fraudulent job offers, forged educational certificates, false marriage documents, or fabricated DNA test reports will be rejected immediately. Additionally, the applicant’s name may be permanently flagged in IRCC’s system for fraud.

This alert comes in the wake of multiple complaints filed in Bengaluru against Owlspriority India Pvt. Ltd, a private firm accused of offering fake job placements and visa guarantees to applicants.

IRCC further noted that it is also taking action against marriage-of-convenience scams and visa fee chargeback frauds. Applicants who attempt to recover their visa fees through chargeback requests may face up to a 10-year entry ban from Canada.

To avoid legal trouble and ensure a legitimate application process, IRCC strongly advises the public to work only with licensed and authorized immigration consultants and to submit genuine documents.
