Final Ballot for 2025 UK Young Professionals Visa Opens 22 July

Indian citizens aged 18 to 30 have one last opportunity in 2025 to live and work in the UK under the India Young Professionals Scheme. The final ballot opens at 1:30 PM IST on 22 July 2025 and closes exactly 48 hours later at 1:30 PM IST on 24 July 2025.

If you missed the February round, this is your last chance to apply this year!

What Is the India Young Professionals Scheme?

This is a bilateral visa program between India and the UK, aimed at promoting cultural exchange and professional mobility. It offers:

  • A 2-year visa to live, work, and travel in the UK
  • No need for employer sponsorship
  • A great chance to gain international work experience
  • Reciprocal opportunities for young British nationals to live and work in India

Who Can Apply?

To enter the ballot, you must meet all the following criteria:

  • Be an Indian citizen aged 18–30
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (UK RQF Level 6 or equivalent)
  • Have at least £2,530 in savings, held for 28 consecutive days
  • No dependent children under 18 living with or financially reliant on you
  • Never held a Youth Mobility Scheme or India Young Professionals Scheme visa before

Only eligible applicants should apply. Ineligible or duplicate entries will be disqualified.

How to Enter the Ballot

It’s free and quick to enter. You’ll need to provide:

  • Full name and date of birth
  • Passport details + a clear scan or photo
  • A valid email address and phone number

The UK government will randomly select winners and notify them by email within two weeks of the ballot closing.

No appeals are allowed if you’re not selected.

If You’re Selected: Next Steps

If your name is picked, here’s what happens:

  • Apply for the visa within 90 days
  • Pay the £319 visa fee
  • Pay the immigration health surcharge (for NHS access)
  • Book and attend a biometric appointment (photo + fingerprints)

Missing the application window will result in losing your place.

How Many Spots Are Left?

Out of 3,000 total visas for Indian citizens in 2025, most were already taken during the February 2025 ballot.

This final round will allocate the remaining few hundred slots, so competition may be tight.

Why This Visa Is a Big Deal

For young Indians looking to live and work in the UK without being tied to a specific job, this is one of the most flexible visa options available.

You can:

  • Work in any field (not limited to your degree)
  • Travel across the UK and Europe
