Great News for Indian Travellers: Philippines Now Visa-Free!
Starting June 8, 2025, Indian passport holders can enjoy visa-free travel to the Philippines for short tourism stays. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick island escape or a longer cultural adventure, the Philippines has now made it easier than ever to visit.
What’s New?
The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has officially implemented a visa-free entry policy for Indian nationals visiting for tourism. This move aims to boost tourism and simplify travel plans for Indian visitors.
Two Visa-Free Options for Indian Nationals
1. 14-Day Visa-Free Entry – No Additional Visas Required
If you’re planning a quick getaway, Indian passport holders can now enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days.
Requirements:
• Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date
• Proof of hotel booking or accommodation
• Financial means to support your stay
• Return or onward ticket
Important Notes:
• This 14-day stay is non-extendible
• It cannot be converted into any other visa type
Perfect for short beach breaks in Boracay or sightseeing tours in Manila!
2. 30-Day Visa-Free Entry – For AJACSSUK Visa Holders
If you hold a valid visa or residence permit from one of the following countries, you’re eligible for an extended 30-day visa-free stay:
AJACSSUK Countries:
• America (USA)
• Japan
• Australia
• Canada
• Schengen Area
• Singapore
• UK (United Kingdom)
Requirements:
• Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date
• Valid AJACSSUK visa or residence permit
• Return or onward ticket
Note: Like the 14-day option, this stay is non-extendible and non-convertible.
Key Reminders for a Smooth Entry
• Visa-free entry is valid only for tourism
• You must enter through an official port of entry
• Travellers must not have any derogatory records with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration
• For non-tourism purposes (like business, employment, or long-term stays), you still need to apply for a visa
Prefer an e-Visa?
The Philippine e-Visa portal (evisa.gov.ph) remains an alternative option for eligible Indian travellers. It’s handy for those who may prefer to get their travel documents sorted ahead of time. However, e-Visas also remain non-extendible and non-convertible.
