Foreign nationals traveling to India will no longer need to fill out the traditional paper arrival form. From now on, this process can be completed conveniently online.
Until recently, travelers had to handwrite the arrival form and submit it at the immigration counter. But starting Wednesday, October 1, the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the launch of the Digital Arrival Card, making the process simpler and faster.
Who Needs to Fill It?
The digital arrival card is mandatory for foreign travelers visiting India for purposes such as:
- Work
- Tourism
- Education
- Business
However, Indian citizens and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders are exempt from completing this form.
What Information Is Required?
When filling out the digital form, travelers will need to provide only basic details such as:
- Passport number
- Nationality
- Purpose of visit
- Address in India
- Contact information
No additional documents need to be uploaded.
Faster Immigration, Less Waiting
With the introduction of the e-arrival card, foreign passengers will no longer face long queues at immigration counters just to hand in a paper form. The initiative is part of India’s broader effort to use technology to reduce waiting times at airports and enhance passenger convenience.
How to Access the Form?
