Indians Can Now Travel Visa-Free to 59 Countries!
New Delhi: Indian passport holders can now travel visa-free to 59 countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia! This marks a significant improvement in the global strength and influence of the Indian passport.
Henley Passport Index: India Ranks 77th
According to the latest Henley Passport Index, which ranks the world’s most powerful passports, the Indian passport now ranks 77th, moving up 8 positions from last year (India was ranked 85th in 2024). This is the highest India has ever ranked on the index.
The ranking is determined based on how many countries a passport holder can travel to without a prior visa—including visa-free access, visa-on-arrival, or eVisa options.
59 Countries Indians Can Now Travel to Without a Visa
Indian passport holders can now visit 59 countries without requiring a visa in advance. Some of the most notable additions and destinations include:
- Indonesia
- Maldives
- Malaysia
- Thailand
- Philippines
- Sri Lanka (recently added to the list)
Last year, this number was 57, which has now increased to 59.
